Maternity Reflexology is a very gentle and safe form of traditional Reflexology which provides a
sense of calmness and well-being both physically as well as mentally. Maternity Reflexology
treatments help you to become more relaxed and balanced during pregnancy and labour.
Other benefits are physical and mental preparation for the birth of your baby. Maternity Reflexology
may also help ease many of the common ailments associated with pregnancy, such as nausea
and morning sickness, back pain, anxiety, constipation, fatigue and many more.
As the feet (or the hands) mirror your body, we will be working on specific reflex points and reflex zones during a session of Maternity Reflexology. By applying pressure on these areas, a qualified Maternity Reflexologist can tell whether something feels unbalanced. However we do not diagnose nor do we replace a GP or midwife; Maternity Reflexology is a Complementary - not an AlternativeTherapy.
I will also only work on certain Reflex points towards the end of your pregnancy. Maternity Reflexology does not induce labour but it will help to make you feel as relaxed as possible.
What can I expect? As with Traditional Reflexology, the first treatment starts with a welcome and a thorough consultation. You will then make yourself comfortable on the treatment couch, with your back well supported throughout. There is no need to remove any clothing apart from your shoes and socks.
